There is only one more national park in the world that is more visited than this one. It receives somewhere within the region of 30,000,000 visits each and every year. Part of this reason is its accessibility as close to a third of the UK can be there within an hour from leaving their home so most of the visits are day trips. At the South end of the Pennines, there are approximately 550 square miles of countryside and small towns. Most of the park is in Derbyshire but it also extends to Cheshire and Staffordshire.

And we usually stop off for lunch afterwards where we enjoy a Sunday roast and a drink or two. The walk will be around 10 miles and will last about four to five hours.
