On 9th June at 8.30am we will be setting off to Keswick in Cumbria where lies the well known Honister Pass which is in Borrowdale. Via Ferrata Xtreme was introduced at Honister in 2012 to bring a much more challenging (and some say scary) Via Ferrata experience.
The Classic Via Ferrata is suitable for most ages and abilities but you do need to be reasonably fit and healthy.
Scramble up the huge Cargo Net to reach the summit of Fleetwith Pike and one of the finest views the Lake District has to offer. Buttermere, Crummock and Loweswater, perfectly framed by Alfred Wainwright`s favourite Fells, roll out before your very eyes. (Weather dependent)
All Day Pass Xtreme
You start your day off by arriving at Honister where you sign up ready for to go deep underground on The Kimberley or The Honister Tour (tour duration 1hour 30minutes).
Once you’ve completed the mine tour, sit down and relax while our friendly staff fix you up a light lunch (consisting of home-made soup, panini or pastie and a hot or cold drink).
After lunch it’s time to prepare yourself for The Via Ferrata Xtreme (duration approx 3hours). Our fully qualified staff will get you kitted up ready for the next stage of your unique honister experience!
In between trips you’ll have enough time to explore our Visitor Centre, where you can wonder round our Factory Trail and even watch our men transforming huge slabs into the best roofing slate in the world, enjoy a tea or coffee and shop till you drop!
Clothing:
Please come prepared for all weather conditions with waterproofs and strong footwear. All equipment will be provided by Honister on arrival.
