The Canal Weekend 5th – 7th April – Congleton to Bugsworth Basin – “Rural Shires & Locks”

For all those first timers or people that love canal boats then the Canal Weekend starting on 5th April is going to be something pretty special.

Our 69ft canal boat is homely and comfortable and provides games, a guitar, games, ipod dock for music and an honesty bar.
Your hosts Mark & Ruth are on-hand to prepare your delicious home-cooked food and look after the boat maintenance. You are there to relax and enjoy the whole leisurely weekend experience.
Fancy a go at steering? Fancy helping with the locks? Thats up to you but you can be as involved as you want and sit back as much as you feel!

We start our first night with dinner approximately 7.30 – 8pm and our trip begins on Saturday leaving from the Cheshire Market Town of Congleton.

We will cover 2 Nights / 28 Miles / 6 Moveable Bridges / 7 Aqueducts
This “Rural Shires & Locks” trip is one of the most picturesque of all our trips.

Highlights of our canal trip include:

– Bosley Locks
– Lyme Park
– Torrs Riverside Park
– Bugsworth Basin

ALL Meals are included on the boat: Friday – Dinner; Saturday – Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner; Sunday – Breakfast/ Lunch

Optional Walks can be taken at:

Lyme Park if you fancy a stroll around the gardens and a visit to the Edwardian house.canal

Torrs Riverside Park & Millennium Walkway  known as “Park under the town” is an amazing gorge where Rivers Sett and Goyt join.
