Manchester Bonfire Night Proving Popular For Social Circle

Rockets and Fountains will be lighting up the sky during the lead up to bonfire night as Manchester’s parks prepare for firework displays, fun fairs and toffee apples.

As last year’s combination of a visit to the local bonfire with a curry in Rusholme’s famed curry mile proved so popular, we decided to repeat the event and with almost 30 already booked, it’s safe to say word-of-mouth from last year’s event was nothing but positive. After witnessing the bonfire at Platt Fields Park, we’ll be sampling a curry in arguably the most popular resturant in Rusholme, Shere Khan. You can catch up with some existing friends and make some fantastic new ones all whilst enjoying one of the most clebrated events on the calendar.

Our year of centenary celebrations finishes tonight with an extra special bonfire night event … we are putting the finishing touches now, but expect fabulous fireworks, some special firewriting, lanterns, music and a couple of things that shall remain secret!

Councillor Mark Hackett, Manchester City Council’s Executive Member for Culture & Leisure said: “The city’s annual fireworks displays and bonfire events are always an entertaining evening. They are a safe way for everyone to celebrate Bonfire Night and to see great pyrotechnic displays for free. The City Council takes every care in planning and managing these events so as not to impact on residents not attending.”

Fireworks 7.30pm; bonfire 8.00pm.
All afternoon/evening: funfair, hot drinks including mulled wine, special hot food (ie not just burger vans).
