On 3rd November at 9am The Liverpool and Leeds Canal Walk starts at Yarrow valley visitor centre which was built to enhance a wonderful local resource.
Then we pass Astley Hall which was built over 400 years ago and where Oliver Cromwell is alleged to have slept after the Battle of Preston.
This is classed as a Grade 1 walk and is 9 miles in duration.
As we walk through the hundreds of acres of the hall grounds which then leads us to Chorley town centre where we will stop off for a famous Chorley cake if we wish
After the refuel we then walk along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and then Duxbury woods which leads us to our cars and well deserved Sunday lunch and pint.
Kit list: hat, gloves, warm clothes, waterproof jacket and trousers, walking trousers walking boots as may be slippy tea flask.
