Bulgaria: More Than Just a Womble

Great Uncle Bulgaria, at over 300 years old, is by far the oldest and wisest of all the Wombles. And there is little doubt that, in his wisdom, he’d jump at the chance (if he’s still able to jump at all) to visit the country after which he is named, to sample some of the most luxurious winter sports resorts in all of Europe.

Although Great Uncle Bulgaria wasn’t available for comment at the time of writing, we at Social Circle have it on good authority that he’d particularly love the town of Borovets, just 75km outside Sofia, where the daytime promises great snow for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, followed by some fantastic apres-ski in the evening.

He’d certainly love the affordable five-star luxury of the Festa Winter Palace hotel, and the amazing value of food and drink in Borovets, where a pint of beer costs just £1, and a brandy hot chocolate can be had for an incredibly reasonable £1.50.

And to top it all off, he’d be amazed by the 2010 prices which we have held for this 2013 trip!

So remember, even if you’re not a Womble, you should definitely make sure you’re free for seven nights from Saturday 23rd of February, because this is an opportunity not to be missed.
